The Festival, originally known as Cervino International Film Festival, was created in 1998 at Breuil-Cervinia, at the bottom of Mount Cervino (Matterhorn). Its original aim was to select and reward films that had already been awarded by others festivals.
Since then, the Festival has experienced significant modifications, which have culminated in a new designation and set up. Apart from its core activity (i.e. Film competition), the Festival offers other type of events such as publishing presentations and special events. Its peculiarity is the vocation of being an original cultural initiative dealing with mountain in a “glocal” and multilevel sense.
